Like, they look good, right?
We don’t normally just post trailers for an article and walk away into the sunset, but with SquareEnix and Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Marvel’s Avengers game we were quite curious as to how the game would be marketed and presented to the masses.
The trailer above is the launch clip, and shows some of the plot and gameplay early in the experience. Characters like Hulk and Ms Marvel are prominent, while everyone seems to mourn the loss of Captain America. The game is getting mixed views from fans and critics, and seem to be all across the board based on how embedded fans may be into the Marvel universe. The backlash has been strong in relation to its convoluted tiers of in-game currency and battlepasses, as well as character gating.
Meanwhile, the CGI video below is meant to be the game’s ad spot, running on TV and online. It shows a scene similar to the Battle of New York out of the original Avengers film, and tries to capture some of that “a few of us against thousands of them” feel. Will that be enough to win fans over?
Marvel’s Avengers launches this Friday, September 4.
