Feel like a blazing swordsman while taking out swarms of enemies
There have been a few great brawlers popping up lately, but one that may have a unique idea behind it is Mass Creation’s Shing! The game, set in a fantasy sci-fi world, has players taking command of sword-wielding fighters who must save their home.
What sets the game apart, however, is that it relies on the right analog stick to let players mimic swinging the sword. That is, if you flick the stick up, the sword slices up. Flick to the side, and the sword follows. The real magic may be in how these simple attacks are strung together, allowing for more and varied swings and slices in the process. Swing a sword down while facing an enemy, then immediately swing up and you might have a quick slice followed by an uppercut.
In the gameplay above, the developers explain the process of attacking and swinging, and how it could make battles feel more purposeful than just button-mashing a fight.
Shing! is planned for release later this year on PC, Xbox, PS4 and Switch.
