Back to where the darkness began
Demon’s Souls was essentially the progenitor of the Souls-like genre. It even has it in its NAME! What a coincidence! When Dark Souls and its sequels burst onto the screen, the genre really took off, and people forgot the original.
Well, no longer. That original game is getting a full on remake, courtesy of Bluepoint Games and Japan Studio. The new Demon’s Souls is a giant tour through Boletaria, completely redone with 4k visuals and new details.
This isn’t Bluepoint’s first go-around with a high profile remake. The studio developed the Shadow of Colossus remake in 2017, and that turned out pretty fantastic.
There’s no release date yet for this remake, however, but we do know that it’ll be exclusive to the PS5 when it arrives.
