Grab your X-Wings and Tie Fighters
After a leak on the PlayStation Network back in April (then known under the codename “Star Wars Maverick” another leak of EA’s next Star Wars game took place this week. An “oopsie” on the Xbox homepage (big yikes!) pre-announced the game early. Now officially known as Star Wars: Squadrons, Electronic Arts had to show its hand a bit early, and has officially announced the game.
A trailer for the game will be revealed on Monday, June 15, at 8AM Pacific/11AM Eastern. This is actually a few days earlier than likely desired, as EA’s Play digital stream event is scheduled to take place on June 18th.
The game is rumored to be a dogfight-based multiplayer game with a single player narrative component as an additional mode. The game is being developed by EA Motive, and is scheduled to release later this year on consoles and PC.
