A big new push for the Crash series
After months of leaks and teases, the next Crash Bandicoot game has been revealed. Crash 4 brings the series back into the forefront of gaming, and picks up where Crash 3 (Warped) ended, essentially dumping every game after that in its canon. When the series last left off, Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy and Uka Uka were stranded on a planet. Well, now they’ve finally escaped, and caused the space-time continuum to fall apart in the process.
The game will feature new gameplay mechanisms to bring itself to the modern era. Crash and Coco will have the ability to wall run, rope-swing and even rail-grind, and have access to four Quantum Masks that grant new powers. Two have been announced thus far, the Time Mask that slows down the speed of time, and the Gravity Mask that allows players to platform upside-down. New playable characters even include Neo Cortex to spice up the play.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision, and will be available on PS4 and Xbox One on October 2, 2020.
