The Detroit Lions just trolled their opponents in Animal Crossing

Announce schedule in New Horizons clip

The Detroit Lions are ready for the NFL season to begin, but just like the rest of us they’ve been hanging out with Tom Nook and the rest of the critters in Animal Crossing New Horizons. The team took to the game to announced their schedule, and it’s kind of amazing.

In the video above, which definitely uses some non-Animal Crossing canon for effects, the team reveals their 2020 schedule opponent by opponent, using puns and set pieces to absolutely troll them. They “bury” a teddy bear (Chicago), block a message from Tom Brady (Buccaneers), and eat a Georgia peach (Atlanta). A meetup with Blathers introduces the Redskins matchup, and it may be the best one of them all. Watch the clip above, and if there’s an NFL season then we’d like to see it completely take place with Tom Nook in charge.
