The clothing depicts art in a “state of transformation”
Daniel Arsham’s work is often shown as a sort of archaeological look at modern culture. What if the objects, style and art that we value today is unearthed far into the future? What would that art look like?
His latest work is in collaboration with The Pokemon Company and Uniqlo. “Relics of Kanta Through Time” features different Pokemon references; his sculptural pieces show logos, symbols and even Pikachu unearthed, cast and damaged as if under stress for thousands of years.
That extends now to a collab with Uniqlo for a clothing capsule. The collection is adorned with images and sketches of his pieces on t-shirts, which depict broken crystal versions of a Pokedex, MewTwo, Pikachu and more.
The capsule is open for preorder on April 24 on Uniqlo’s site.
