Still in June, with plenty of time to plan
With E3 2020 being cancelled as a part of the sweeping COVID-19 pandemic, the ESA was planning on doing something a bit more digital for this year. Those plans may not have been revealed yet, but something that has been is the date for E3 2021.
Yes, get those AirBNB reservations ready.
The news comes courtesy of GamesIndustry.biz, who are reporting on a presentation the ESA recently gave to its partners this weekend. E3 2021 would be “reimagined” — whatever that means, since E3 2020 was supposed to be taken in a new direction as well. The dates revealed are June 15-17, 2021. Ideas of an extended four- or five-day event, where more days are allotted to fans and industry, are hereby shattered. Sorry, folks, we’re still going to be mixing it up together for the foreseeable future.
At least we have over a year to figure out how.
