Kicking ass and taking a new opportunity
Reggie Fils-Aimé, the once-proud King of Nintendo of America, is getting back into video games — sorta. The former President of the gaming mega company has been appointed to the board of retailer GameStop, alongside former Walmart CEO William Simon and current PetSmart CEO James Symancyk.
Fils-Aimé has been taking his retirement in stride, speaking at commencements, teaching at Cornell, and popping up at The Game Awards. Now, he’ll be tasked as a part of a team to help turn around the game and geek retailer that has fallen on hard times as it tries to keep up with an increasingly digital world.
Good luck, Reggie! This may need a few magic mushrooms to get through.
