Is, unsurprisingly, a sequel to 20XX
We were big fans of roguelike platformer 20XX for several years, and enjoyed it fully when it released on consoles back in 2018. Nary a couple years or so later, a sequel has been announced.
Today, Batterystaple Games and Kowloon Nights have revealed 30XX. Set 1000 years after the events of the original title, fan favorite hero Nina awakens from a slumber to find that her roguelike world has a few more bits and a whole new threat. The first game melded Mega Man and Mega Man X themes, and this latest game aims to continue the trend, albeit with more weapons, more detailed worlds, and new abilities, including a Power Fusion system. Power Fusion will allow Nina to merge abilities, creating whole new sets beyond just the primary weapons.
30XX is set to arrive in 2021 on PC and consoles. It will be shown off at PAX East 2020 from February 27 – March 1.
