Time heals all wounds, but ghosts don’t have wounds
A few years ago, there was a mildly successful reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise, meant to appeal to a new generation of moviegoers. While it did well enough at theaters, and critics generally liked it, the fans of the original series weren’t so thrilled.
Change scares people, maybe more than ghosts do.
Perhaps what really was the issue was that we were/are inundated with remakes and reboots, and the sentiment towards lack of originality is wearing us down.
No worries, though. There’s a new Ghostbusters film coming, and it’s actually a sequel to the original films. Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars the grandkids of the original Eighties team as they inherit a farm owned by one of the Busters. Strange things start to happen (including an actual cast member of Stranger Things!) and we’re teased with some supernatural phenomena.
Watch the trailer, and get ready for next Summer when Ghostbusters: Afterlife hits theaters.
