More dungeon exploring coming our way
Grinding Gear Games has finally dropped info on Path of Exile 2: the game exists, and it’s in development. The action RPG dungeon crawler, popular for years on PC, follows the overhead isometric viewpoint that’s essentially standard in the genre, and the sequel will continue that direction.
In PoE2, the plot takes place alongside that of the original PoE, letting players carry over expansions and items from the first game into the second. It also features 19 new Ascendancy Classes and a revamped gem skill system. It has no release date, but a Beta is planned — though don’t expect it any time before the end of 2020, at the earliest.
In the meantime, series fans can expect new expansions for the original game to continue. Conquerors of Atlas gives a new Challenge League and five new endgame bosses. It arrives in December.
Finally, Path of Exile Mobile will bring the series to pocket platforms sometime in the future, with the goal of retaining the complexity and depth of the PoE games without sacrificing anything. No date exists for this yet.
