Cyberpunk isn’t a genre, it’s a way of life
At least, it seems to be, according to the onslaught of games over the next year that are based in cyberpunk stylings. Ghostrunner, from One More Level and All In Games, looks like it’s going to take that wild future and mix in some Mirror’s Edge parkour influences.
While that *other* cyberpunk game might be more of a slower paced action RPG, Ghostrunner firmly engrosses itself in movement and combat, using weapons of all kinds, from melee to what appears to be electro-whips, as players run across walls and platforms at high speed. Throw in some bullet time and one-hit-kill mechanisms and it just might stand out very easily on its own.
Ghostrunner arrives for PS4, Xbox One, PC Steam and Switch (?) in 2020.
