Steels our hearts, so to speak
Nintendo went all out for DAEMON X MACHINA this week at E3, detailing not only major gameplay elements and changes since a gameplay BETA earlier this year, but also new features as well.
The mech & human action game will blend simulation elements with arcade, focusing on more precision movement and attacking as opposed to just melee. This isn’t a brawler — it’s more of a flight sim.
The game picks up after rogue AI has torn apart the world, from the moon to Earth itself, and unleashed robotic hell. As an Arsenal (mech) pilot, players will be able to customize their characters and mech suits, even being able to grab and equip weapons and items on the fly from downed enemies.
The striking art style not only makes the world look and feel darker, but arguably provides some kick ass visuals. My desktop is going to have a lot of wallpapers coming out of this. The game looks to have massive playable environmental arenas, from cities to deserts to everything in between.
The game will come with single-player and multiplayer modes for up to 4 players both online and off. Nintendo showcased the game on a couple of occasions at E3 during its Treehouse Live stage show, detailing these modes as well as some of the narrative, customization and battle elements. The company also confirmed that competitive multiplayer will arrive via an update post-launch.
DAEMON X MACHINA makes its way to Switch on September 13, 2019.
Accessory maker Hori will also be releasing a ginormous pair of Joy Cons for the Switch themed for the game, but missing some of the NFC, IR and gyro features. They’ll arrive in Japan, but no release date is set if they make it to the US. This is important information for Erron.
