Horror can be cute
A year ago, we found out about carrion, the new game from Phobia Game Studio. Now, we have a clearer look at the experience from publisher Devolver Digital. Revealed during their annual bizarre E3 livestream, the company showed us just how gooey horror games can be.
In Carrion, we play as the monster in what the publisher and developer are calling a “reverse horror” experience. As the beast, we attack humans, climb walls and ceilings, and throw our strangely bloody body around in a 2D pixelated world. Somehow, the pixels make this beast both cute and abnormally more terrifying.
Carrion will be launching for consoles and PC in 2020.
