The next console wears red
Scarlett, to be exact. Microsoft’s Phil Spencer took the stage at their E3 2019 press conference today to announce that their next console is codenamed “Project Scarlett.” Granted, 99% of the internet already knew this, thanks to leaks, interviews, and general rumor-spreading, but it was actually confirmed by Microsoft today.
The console will have all of the teraflops, all of the SSDs, all of the bits you can handle. The developer video mentioned:
- 4x more powerful than Xbox One X
- SSD drive
- Zen 2 and Navi processors by AMD
- Support for all 4 generations of Microsoft content (Xbox, 360, One and Scarlett)
- 8k visuals
- 120 FPS
The console looks like it will have parity with what Sony has announced of the next PlayStation this far. Look for Scarlett on shelves when it launches Holiday 2020.
