During Google’s Stadia event, the company welcomed Larian Studios, who promptly stunned the gaming community with a surprise reveal of Baldur’s Gate III. The game, a sequel to 2000’s Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn, has changed development from the series’ BioWare roots to Larian.

Larian, whose Divinity series has become an incredible popular franchise, will bring its brand of PC game development to Baldur’s Gate, working alongside Wizards of the Coast to base the game on the Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition.

Not much is known outside of the trailer, which features a knight suddenly turning into a demon, and Larian did not announce a release date.

Baldur’s Gate III is currently announced for PC and Stadia.
