Pokémon Sleep hopes to turn resting into entertainment

Pokémon Sleep hopes to turn resting into entertainment

*frantically Googles which Pokémon begin with the letter Z*

During their annual(?) Pokémon press conference tonight, The Pokémon Company revealed a new game that would be the Yang to Pokémon GO‘s Yin.

Pokémon Sleep hopes to entice players to rest, bringing rewards and adventures based on how well they slept and when they woke up. The game, which didn’t yet have any visuals to show, tracks sleep via a new device, the Pokémon GO Plus +, that’s set on a pillow next to the sleeper (player?). Yup, TWO pluses! Woohoo. The Plus+ incorporates motion sensing tech that sends signals to a mobile device via Bluetooth based on sleep habits.

Yes, it’s a sleep tracker.

It’ll also function as Pokémon GO Plus device, so that players can catch the creatures while playing GO or Let’s GO. The Plus + is designed by Nintendo and will be released alongside the game.

When is that release date? There isn’t anything firm (like a mattress) but sometime in 2020 is the planned timeframe.
