A whole lot of pocket monster news is incoming
We hope you like Pokémon, because Nintendo sure thinks you do. The company (and its Pokémon Company side gig) have announced two big events hitting our screens within the next week.
Up first, there will be a special Pokémon press conference taking place on May 28 (May 29 in Japan) at 6PM PDT (9PM EDT). Last year at a similar press conference, the company revealed three new Pokémon titles (the as-yet unnamed Switch mainline games, Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee, and Pokémon Quest). Not much is known about what will be talked about, but we’re guessing Sword and Shield will be mentioned as well as perhaps the next mobile title in development. And maybe the next Pokémon movie? Detective Pikachu has been a massive success, and the company is probably itching to get more Pokémon into theaters.
If that’s not enough, there will be a dedicated Pokémon Sword & Shield Direct hitting airwaves on June 5, just a few days before E3 kicks off. We’ll get much more detailed information about the game then, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, we’ll hear about the rumored Switch Mini perfect for playing Pokémon on the go.
You can watch both here:
If anything, it makes Nintendo’s E3 2019 that much more mysterious and unpredictable.
