War. War never changes. It only gets rebooted.
Today, Activision and Infinity Ward revealed the next Call of Duty game: Modern Warfare. Yes, you heard that right — it’s a reboot of the modern age subset of the series, so it will carry the same name as its predecessors.
And, much like those early Modern Warfare games, the new Modern Warfare will have an extensive single player campaign within it, multiplayer, and now co-op, unifying them all into one experience. With a new game engine, that experience should look and feel more modern than ever before, finally ditching the aging grips of the past.
The new game will also drop season passes, pushing free content across the full lifespan of the game, and allow crossplay between console and PC.
The trailer above showcases in-game footage, and reveals an experience that is more methodical and tactical than in the past. It feels like No Russian, but as a full game.
Modern Warfare airdops onto PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25.
