Evil Ryu has a new name.
Originally appearing in Street Fighter Alpha 2, and subsequently in other games like Ultra Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter EX, Evil Ryu was the titular hero’s dark side. Slowly succumbing to Satsui no Hado, Ryu would often become aggressive and powerful, giving birth to this alter ego. By the time SFV rolled up on us, Ryu had banished the Satsui from his life, while at the same time splitting off his other form as a new enemy. That new Evil Ryu has a name now: Kage. And he;s coming as a part of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition‘s season pass content.
While many of his moves are derived from Ryu and the Evil Ryu form, Kage (meaning “shadow”) actually borrows a bit from Akuma, and even has a horizontal Hadoken when he jumps. He is available today on PS4 and Steam for $5.99, along with a few other balance changes to the game and fighters.
