Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was a fantastic film. In fact, it’s quite possibly the best of the “modern” Star Wars movies, since at least the Return of the Jedi. The characters are fantastic, the storytelling is superb, and the surprise twists are on point. But, is it enough to anchor an entire new series from?
Disney sure hopes so.
The media giant has announced that one of the heroes of Rogue One, Cassian Andor, will be leading a brand new series for its Disney+ streaming service. The story will follow the character, portrayed by Diego Luna in the film and the series, in the formative years of the Rebellion leading up to the film. The show will be heavy on the spy themes, Disney says, and will focus on missions and heists as the Empire takes control. The show will join the Jon Favreau-produced Mandalorian series that’s also coming to the service.
No release date has been announced for the series yet.

Likewise, Disney hasn’t announced a release date for yet another new series that it’s developing. Thor’s adopted brother Loki will (for some reason) be receiving his own series on the Disney service. There’s no word on what timeframe the series will take place in (pre-Infinity War? After?) but we do know that Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role.
