UNIQLO is one of the most popular pop culture trend brands on the planet, and it regularly partners with other brands for unique products. Each year it hosts a “UTGP” competition, allowing would-be designers the opportunity to create their next hit product with a specific brands in mind. Last year, during UTGP 2017, the company worked with Nintendo, and surprisingly it’s back yet again. Its latest partnership focuses on Pokémon.
Running from October 23 to December 2, 2018, the competition will reward entrees with admission of their work as a part of the Spring/Summer 2019 Collection, as well as a $10,000 grand prize. Three winners will also receive trip to the Pokémon World Championship 2019 in DC and invitations to an award ceremony in Tokyo.
With the theme, the competition is completely open. Want to base it on a movie? Sure. Specific game? Go ahead. Draw inspiration from anywhere. Potential entrants are to check out the competition site from October 23.
