The tiny version of the giant RPG is hitting modern gaming devices.
Final Fantasy XV landed on consoles a couple of years ago, bringing the big bravado that the series is known for, but it was the mobile device port that mixed things up even more for the IP. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD is the console port of that mobile phone port of that console game. The game was released episodically for iOS and Android, and arrived on Windows a bit later, but here it’s the full story all in one go. That story, by the way, is a retelling, scaled down version of FFXV, with simplified controls (touch on mobile devices) but the majority of the main story points and battles.
It’s probably fun for the folks who couldn’t get enough of the original version, and wanted to play it on the go. But throwing it back on consoles? Maybe it’s a case of “we had the data, so why not?”
The game is now available on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, with the Switch version coming soon.
