SquareEnix has revealed that yet another of its classic RPGs is getting the remaster treatment.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition brings back to life the Gamecube Action RPG that signified a return of the Final Fantasy IP to Nintendo devices. The game was perhaps most notable (back then) for its use of Gameboy Advance devices for multiplayer gaming, something which left many players wanting to co-op with friends out in the dust.
The game was met with middling reviews back then, but saw a long lifeline as a spin-off IP in its own right, spawning iterations on the DS and Wii. Though the original is perhaps the “biggest” in the series, the best are the strange “My Life As…” versions which arrived on WiiWare.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition launches for the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019.
