SDCC is kicking in high gear with tons of new trailers to get us hyped. Days 2 and 3 bring the mass media blockbusters of the show, so we’re posting some of our favorites from the Con.
Shazam!
Finally, a DC movie that looks like it’s going to let us have some fun. Shazam stars Zachary Levy as the hero, and brings plenty of humor to the character formerly known as DC’s Captain Marvel. It arrives Spring 2019, around the same time that Marvels’ Captain Marvel debuts.
Aquaman
Even though the DC movies have been mostly dark, the modern take on Aquaman seems to fit the character. The first actual gosh darn trailer is here for the December film, and it looks like we’ll finally get the background info on the character that we’ve wanted. It looks like it’s a massive epic film, and also very, very wet.
Godzilla: King of The Monsters
The King is back! Humanity is a plague, and the Earth plans on exterminating us with giant beasts. At least, that’s what we gather from the first trailer for the new Godzilla film. Mothra, Rodan, Ghidorah and others join the cast of “titans” as Godzilla may actually stand up for humanity again. Coming Summer 2019.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald
The next Fantastic Beasts film is on the way, and this time we’re getting Hogwarts references! Gindewald goes on trial Number 16.
Glass
The giant M Night crossover is here, bringing us some completely unique and different super heroes. In theaters in January 2019.
Young Justice: Outsiders
DC loves their darkness, and now they’re bringing that to the popular Young Justice cartoon. The third season, delayed several years, is finally ready to show itself. It’s coming to the DC Universe streaming service.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
A true final season is here for the show that left many Star Wars fans gasping for air.
Mega Man: Fully Charged
Capcom is going all in on the Blue Bomber this year, and it looks like the newest cartoon series capitalizes on that wave. This Mega Man isn’t the one we’ve all come to know, however, as robot boy Aki Light becomes the hero when the time calls for him. Debuting August on Cartoon Network.
Voltron
This is quickly becoming the best sci-fi show outside of The Expanse. The shocking events at the end of Season 6 left the Paladins without the Castle of Lions and headed home to Earth to seek help. This trailer tells us that it may not be the best idea. Coming August to Netflix.
