At its E3 2018 press conference, Microsoft took the wraps off of the next Forza game, Forza Horizon 4.
The Playground Games developed project continues alternating years with Forza proper, providing a more arcade-like experience than its older brother. The offshoot has carved out its own space, however, and this year’s edition looks to continue pushing the innovation of the series.
Forza Horizon 4 seems more than just an iteration, this time taking place in the UK and introducing dynamic weather and seasons that are consistent across multiplayer. This could drastically change how and where the race moves, as a pond is an obstacle in one season, but when it freezes over in Winter it becomes traversable.
Other additions include the ability to further customize our avatars, over 450 vehicles (including the yummy McLaren Senna), and 60fps enhanced for Xbox One X. Players can also earn funding to buy up property across the map, allowing for further perks and customizations to unlock. Finally, co-op challenges will allow players to work together to achieve goals and further perks.
Forza Horizon 4 launches on Xbox One, PC and Game Pass this year on October 2, 2018.
