E3 2018: Devil May Cry 5 brings the series back to its explosive roots

Demons are back, as DMC returns to its roots.

Devil May Cry 5 was revealed at E3 today, and features traits inspired by the series’ origins. A “true” sequel to DMC4, the new game splits from the DmC: Devil may Cry version that changed up the series back in 2013. Director Hideaki Itsuno took the stage to discuss the game, noting that several years have passed within the game’s world since DMC4, and the Sons of Sparda saga must now be concluded.

Demons have begun appearing in Red Grave City, and Nero is going to fin out why. Assisted by his partner Nico, the now demon arm-less hero takes on the challenge with a further tweaked and balanced battle system. And, they have to find Dante, who has gone missing.

Oh, and a surprise little reveal at the end of the trailer. WINK.

Devil May Cry 5 arrives for Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2019.
