Nintendo hosted a special Splatoon themed holographic concert at the Tokaigi gaming event in Japan this past weekend.
The half hour concert featured the musical duo of Pearl and Marina, from Splatoon 2, jamming and “singing” to the game’s hit soundtrack. The event featured a few songs, some impressive CGI, and a giant glass wall onto which the characters were projected. Fans were treated to pink and green glow sticks, matching the game’s aesthetic and the duo’s color choice, and a couple of special guest performers.

This isn’t the first time Nintendo has done this, as the Splatoon concerts have been going on for a couple of years now with hologram performances.
More importantly, for collectors at least, the company has announced that the musical duo from the game will finally be receiving their own amiibo.
Pearl and Marina will arrive sometime this year in plastic form as a set for $24.99. The amiibo will allow for players to take selfies in the game with the pair of pop stars. The news also brought with it a reveal of new stages and weapons (via the Nintendo news section of the Switch’s eShop).
