NBA 2K is getting its own eSports league, and the corresponding NBA teams have begun posting their names and logos.
Several teams have been revealed in the league, which pits the best NBA 2K players against each other in a joint venture between Take Two & the NBA. Qualifications begin in January for the 2018 league, and more info on joining can be found at their website.
But let’s look at those logos!
The league logo itself seems to focus on a modern style, mashing the red/white/blue of the current NBA logo with a polygonal basketball. It’s easily reproducible, which is a blessing for recognizability.
This polygonality seems to also spread onto the rest of the league, as teams modify their current logos and colors to come up with something based on aspects of their branding. Some of the teams just add “Gaming” at the end of their names, while others take a more unique approach. The Sacramento Kings named their team the “Kings Guard,” while the Detroit Pistons chose “Pistons GT,” which is both short for Gaming Team *and* an automotive moniker.
Have a look at all the revealed logos below.
