The seventh and newest expansion to World of Warcraft, Battle for Azeroth, debuted at Blizzcon with new features and a stunning cinematic.
Detailing the battle between Horde and Alliance on new continent Zandalar, the expansion aims squarely at large scale war. The new expansion introduces six new allied races, three each for the horde and alliance, which start at level 20. Alongside the new allies, the leveling has been improved in some key areas. The Outlands scales 60-80, Northrend at 60-80, and zones and mobs now scale to our levels depending on the area we are in, even applying to dungeons and rewards.
A new Artifact medallion, the Heart of Azeroth empowers your armor and unlocks a talent tree that empowers gear.
New island expeditions will allow players to explore uncharted islands in the great sea and skirmish with enemies via three player co-op, all while providing replay with constantly changing objectives.
This, along with large scale warfronts, PVP updates that include two new arena maps (Tiragarde and Zuldazar) a new Seething Shore battle ground, and removal of PVP and PVE servers to let players choose to flag themselves as active or not, will bring a whole new interplay to the game’s combat and interactions.
To top it off, ten new dungeons will be ready for faction leveling, and eight raid bosses will keep players working together as a team.
WHEW! Thankfully, Blizzard took the time out to show us that opening cinematic above, because we’re drooling after all of the details.
