During its Direct video presentation today, Nintendo revealed that Bethesda’s DOOM and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus were launching on the Switch console.
In a surprise announcement, both games join Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as AAA games coming to the device. While underpowered compared to the PS4 and Xbox One, all three games will add impress caliber to the new console’s catalog. Both DOOM and Wolfenstein II are built on the ID Tech 6 game engine, so it will be interesting to see how the product scales on the hybrid console.
We won’t have long to wait to find out. DOOM arrives this holiday season, following Skyrim which launches on November 17. Wolfenstein II will miss its other console brethren, arriving in early 2018.
