We all know that Arc System Works and Bandai Games are working on a fighting game that you may have heard about during E3 called Dragonball FighterZ. The game took everyone by storm and won many awards and nominations during the show — including from us!
During EVO 2017 in Las Vegas the makers of BlazBlue showcased not one but two more games that they are working on. Well, one is really just an update to BlazBlue Central Fiction where the devs are adding a new cat-like character named Jubei.
The actual game that got people talking is BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, that was revealed following the Jubei trailer. I’ve seen the reaction videos and I had the same thoughts when I saw the teaser trailer for the first time. They took three known franchises and jammed them into one game: BlazBlue, P4A: Persona 4 Arena and Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late [S t]. The surprise was at the end of the video when you can hear Ruby Rose from RWBY (pronounce Ruby) say “Now hang on just a minute” and then see an image of the character. That’s when the fanboy in me just started to scream like a little girl. Rooster Teeth did tease that during EVO fans would get a glimpse of RWBY in a fighting game and they sure delivered. Now, I know most people wanted a stand alone fighting game from the RWBY team but I personally believe this is a nice introduction to the genre.
To say that I am really excited for this title is a major understatement. The cross-over will arrive on consoles in 2018. I need to find the line now.
