At its E3 Ubisoft officially announced the rumored Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guiellmot welcomed Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto on stage at the event to reveal the crossover game. In Mario + Rabbids, Ubisoft’s bizarre rabbit-like creatures have gotten stuck in the Mushroom Kingdom. They’ve been followed by evil rabbids who are up to no good. It’s up to Mario and his new furry friends to save the kingdom from certain disaster.
The tactical action game comes with lite RPG elements. Featuring environmental hazards and obstructions, players will guide their team of heroes into battle, including combos and upgrades and the use of pipes.
Visually, there’s a Mario 3D World feel to the game, with ceramic-like textures and tilt shift camera angles that blur out the background. It looks pretty adorable.
The game will be available August 29 exclusively on Nintendo’s Switch.
