During this week’s Nintendo Direct, we finally got the Splatoon 2 release date that we’ve been awaiting. Circle your calendars for July 21st!
Splatoon 2, the hotly anticipated sequel to the surprise multiplayer hit that Nintendo launched in 2015, arrives exclusively to the Nintendo Switch this Summer with more multiplayer arenas, weapons and customization options.
Now, there’s also going to be a “horde” mode as well, allowing teams to take down waves of enemies. Salmon Run will allow for four players to go up against waves of Salmonid fish and fish robots, the new species in the game, as they collect Power Eggs. Players can also revive each other as needed.
No word has been given yet on a single-player campaign, but our fingers are crossed for an announcement before the game’s release.
