Well, that’s terrifying.
One of the knocks about the last several Alien films (including Prometheus) is that they’ve tended to focus on Sci-Fi instead of the series’ base of horror. Fear not! Or rather, fear more. The new trailer for Alien: Covenant, the sequel to Prometheus and a prequel to Alien, puts terror and fear right at the heart of the experience.
In the trailer, we meet a cast of couples on their way to forge life on a new world. They’re blazing the trail towards helping human civilization spread around the galaxy, arriving on a fertile planet. With a seemingly empty world, they find out rather quickly that they’re not alone.
It culminates in one of the most frightening scenes of a Xenomorph in the series, as it uses its shelled head to bash into a ship cockpit.
Color us much more intrigued now.
