SteamWorld Dig was one of our favorite games of the last few years, and its spiritual sequel, SteamWorld Heist, was just as good. Now, a proper sequel arrives to the downward traveling game, and it’s coming to Switch.
SteamWorld Dig 2 has been announced for Nintendo’s new console, the Switch. Picking up on the design of the first game, Dig 2 follows a hero as she excavates a procedurally dangerous generated mine, seemingly endlessly, while grabbing a variety of loot. Much like the first game, players will be able to travel around the map a la Metroidvania style games, improving their character along the way.
No firm date was given beyond 2017, but expect it on Switch and other platforms this year.
