Legend of Zelda escape rooms coming in 2017

We love ourselves some escape room magic. The concept — locking people in a room for a set amount of time while they solve puzzles to make their way out — has exploded in the US over the last couple of years. We at SQ have been to a few escape rooms over that period of time, and can wholeheartedly agree that they not only push many of our puzzle-solving video gaming buttons, but they also get super intense as the seconds tick away.

Video game themed escape rooms aren’t that new either, but there’s one franchise that hasn’t appeared until now and may be perfect for the experience: The Legend of Zelda.

DUH.

Link is just a little dude trapped in a dungeon, solving puzzles and finding keys to make his way out.

DUH.

Man, it seems like a no-brainer. Thankfully, Nintendo and organizers Scrap agree. Arriving in early 2017 is Defenders of the Triforce, a traveling escape room experience coming to several cities around the US. For around $45+ (depending on booking date, location, etc) and up, players can purchase different packages towards the event, which will feature Zelda themed puzzles and ideas. Though just announced, several dates have already sold out in some of the cities. It’s probably best to book now, early, which there’s still time.
