YoYo Games’ GameMaker software isn’t just one of the most popular video game creation tools on the market, it’s also one of the easiest to learn and use. It’s spawned thousands of games, across just about every gaming device in existence, and is considered a pillar of gamedev for hobbyists.
Well, it’s also really cheap right now. Like, ridiculously cheap.
The Humble GameMaker Bundle, which supports Doctors Without Borders, brings the software to a very reasonable “Pay What You Want” price. Yep, get it (along with a few games and source code developed for it) for as low as a penny, or dish out a little over $12 for more games and the HTML module. Plug in over $15 and you’ll receive Android, iOS, and Windows UWP modules, games and source code in addition to everything mentioned above. That totals to over $1800 worth of games, software and tools to get started. The dev tools are Windows-only, but the included games spread across Windows, Mac and Android.
Though it’s been up on for over a week already, and there are just 5 days left, we wanted to gently prod our loyal readers to take a good look at it. Why? Well, we’ll be hosting our first-ever SideQuesting Game Jam in early October and this would be a great tool to use to begin with. We’ll have more details in the coming days/weeks leading up to the event, but for basically nothing you can grab an extensive piece of game development software to be ready.
