After several leaks over the past few days, and the slow drum beat of fans wanting it, Warner Bros and DC have officially unveiled Injustice 2.
The game, a sequel to the popular 2013 release Injustice: Gods Among Us, builds on the original fighting game by including earnable upgrades. These “armor” sets can give offensive or defensive advantages, or just simply be visual, and provide a departure from what developer NetherRealm has created in the past with the original and with its Mortal Kombat series.
The game picks up right after the original, with the heroes and villains picking up the pieces in the aftermath of the battles. Featured in the trailer are Superman, Batman, the Flash, Aquaman, and Supergirl, with more to be announced later.
Due in 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One, before the big Justice League film later that year, this will hopefully lead to the actual Batman v Superman battle that we’ve wanted all along.
