It’s nearly been five years since the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Now, the beloved title is getting a makeover. Skyrim’s “Special Edition” will feature remastered graphics, and it will allow for mod installation on console versions. This feature’s interface is similar to Fallout 4’s workshop, and it will enable players to customize their playthrough. The example mods shown range from friendly dragons to an enthusiastically titled “Cats!” add-on.
After Fallout 4 was developed by porting Skyrim’s engine to the new consoles, this remaster is hardly a surprise, but, boy, does it look good.
The Special Edition will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on October 28th. Check out the video below to see the remastered graphics (and volumetric god rays) in action.
