[E3 2016] Prey is back, but it’s not the Prey you remember

A surprise reveal at Bethesda’s E3 press event was the debut cinematic trailer for Prey. Years ago, fans may remember that the company was working on Prey 2 for last gen consoles before the game was put on indefinite hold. Well, Arkane Studios has picked up the mantle, and instead of continuing the efforts of previous developer Human Head they seem to be rebooting the whole thing.

Perhaps that’s for the best, as the original Prey wasn’t great and Prey 2 was trying to prolong the same character path. This version of Prey is all new. It features lead character Morgan Yu as he goes into a slow spiral of mental anguish. The psychological thriller takes place on space station Talos I, and Yu must battle through his personal demons — and some physical ones — before unraveling the mystery of what’s happening around him.

Prey will be arriving in 2017.
