[E3 2016] EA is working on all kinds of Star Wars games

We knew Electronic Arts had a bunch of Star Wars games in the pipeline, but we didn’t know exactly how many. Well that vision is a little clearer now, as the company gave a peek into their upcoming projects for the Lucasfilm IP. And it’s a whole lot of Stars and Wars.

Jade Raymond, VP GM of Motive Studios/Visceral Games, took the stage to queue up a behind-the-curtain video showcasing no less than 5 different projects set in the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars Battlefront

Coming in 2017 will be major updates to Star Wars Battlefront, the several million selling multiplayer-only game. Working with DICE will be Motive and Criterion to add content based across the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars (Untitled, Visceral)

Amy Hennig took the screen to shed light on her upcoming project with Visceral games. The untitled game will be a third person action adventure. The video showed some of the concept art for the game, as well as early in-game footage, which featured a character walking through what appeared to be a desert town (it’s always a desert town). The game will be arriving in 2018.

Star Wars (Untitled, Respawn)

Rumors of Respawn working on a Star Wars game were made true, as clips of the company’s motion-capture work was revealed. We saw two people battling with light sabers, and we know that it’s also a third-person action adventure game set in a “different Star Wars era”, but that’s all for now.

Galaxy of Heroes

Galaxy of Heroes is a popular mobile game that you’re probably not playing, but maybe you should? The game will soon be adding more characters from across Star Wars canon.

The Old Republic

BioWare hopes you still like MMOs, because it just reminded us that The Old Republic is still an active game. The company will be adding even more content to the game soon, though it wasn’t mentioned what that would be.
