We knew there would be amiibo coming to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and now we know what they are. And they’re GLORIOUS.
During E3 this week, Nintendo announced three new amiibo will be arriving to the game, to go along with the current Legend of Zelda line and the Twilight Princess “Wolf Link” that release earlier this year. Tapping the Wolf Link will zap in the wolf into the game, automatically attacking enemies for players (like a good pet wolf should). He only has three hearts, and once injured enough he will be done for the day.
The three new amiibo revealed are Link (Archer), Link (Rider) and the Guardian, which is the giant spider-like mech thing we’ve been seeing in videos. While they all present high detail, the oversized Guardian especially will include a new trait to amiibo: poseability. The arms are flexible, and can be arranged in whatever position they’d like. All will be released in 2017 alongside the game. Until then, enjoy these glorious images.
