Video game retailer GameStop has announced that it is expanding into the publishing game, and is bringing with it some big players. Insomniac Games, Frozenbyte, Tequila Works and Ready At Dawn are already set to launch new titles to be released through the retailer’s new publishing arm, GameTrust.
This news comes on the heels of the company’s January announcement that they planned to get into the publishing business and had a tentative partnership with Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac Games, who revealed GameTrust will be publishing its upcoming adventure game Song of the Deep.
“GameTrust will revolutionize the game development and distribution process by offering a new way for independent developers to create and introduce their own IP to a broad gaming audience and for gamers to discover and enjoy exclusive new video game experiences,” the company said.
Through GameTrust, the company says it will also work with indie developers to discover new projects and distribute them through their retail locations.
The company further stated that it has plans to announce new developers and games set to be published through GameTrust in the near future.
