Nintendo dropped a surprise Direct on us this past Thursday, detailing many of the games coming this Spring and Summer to the Wii U and 3DS. Different regions (North America, Europe and Japan) received slightly altered versions of the show, an during Nintendo of Japan’s the company announced that they will be releasing a Super Famicom-themed limited version of the New Nintendo 3DS.
The price for the handheld will be ¥21,600 (or about $190) and will be released in Japan in April. There has been no announcement if this will be released here in the States, but I am praying to the Nintendo gods that it will!
This is the kind of design that I was hoping the GameStop NES-themed version of the Nintendo 3DS XL would look like a few years back when special editions started flying around here in the West, where the outer shell would look like the NES console and the inside would mimic the controller. See, GameStop, THIS is how you do a themed version of the 3DS!
