I’ve literally seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens about a thousand times already since Thursday, but I’ve made a massive error: I neglected to rewatch the original trilogy before doing so. I still plan on it over the holiday breaks, but the people at CineFix have done us a solid and recreated the entire plot — in 8-bit form!
As a part of their 8-Bit Cinema features, pixelated characters in the films appear in RPG overworlds, sidescrolling action sequences, and even adventure game-styled conversations. It’s fitting for a series that prides itself on its Eighties roots, and now we get to relive it in a novel way.
