At least we know what we’re getting. At least they’re not calling it a remaster or remake.
Deadpool, the mediocre-at-best game that appeared on last gen consoles in 2013 and based on the popular Marvel character, is getting a re-release for modern consoles. The version we’re getting now on November 17 will include all of the DLC (challenges and costumes) from the original — and that’s basically it. No noted visual or control upgrades, no extra modes, no new features.
There are definitely people who like the game, and it was just re-issued to Steam in July, lining it up with the forthcoming movie in 2016. However, the price point does deviate from what we typically see of re-issues. Deadpool will launch for $49.99, which is typically reserved for high-level AAA remasters/remakes like Last of Us. We’ll see if the price stays where it is come release day, since it’s going to be a pretty packed Fall already and a higher-priced reissue may be overlooked.
