Microsoft opened Gamescom with an Xbox One briefing that finally showed us how Remedy Entertainment’s Quantum Break will actually mix gameplay and live-action. Here’s how.
The gameplay will focus on the heroes and their exploits as they unravel a disappearance and the felling apart of time itself. Mixed into the game will be a live-action TV show depicting what the antagonists are up to in between play sessions. It’s not clear if the videos will be viewable outside of the game or not, or if they are anything more than live cut scenes.
The company also unveiled the cast that will take the helm of the live action portion of the game (and is subsequently digitized into the game itself). Playing the protagonist will be Shawn Ashmore (X-Men) and joining him will be actors from huge shows and films: Dominic Monaghan and Lance Reddick (of LOST fame), Aiden Gillen (Little Finger on Game of Thrones), Patrick Heusinger (Gossip Girl) and Courtney Hope (Mob Rules).
Watch the announcement video below. Quantum Break arrives April 5, 2016.
