HNNNNNGH.
That’s the sound that about 100,000 people just made all at once. Sony, EA and Disney have just announced a limited-edition Darth Vader Playstation 4, and it’s sexy. Well, if you can call Darth Vader sexy, at least.
At this weekend’s D23 conference, Disney revealed a pretty awesome new PS4 bundle that includes a 500GB black console with Vader and the Star Wars logo etched onto it, a glossy black DualShock 4 controller with red D-Pad, L and “O” buttons, white thumbsticks and face buttons and blue R buttons, a digital copy of the upcoming Deluxe version of the Battlefront game, and digital copies of FOUR classic Star Wars games “remastered” for the current gen: Super Star Wars, Star Wars Racer Revenge, Star Wars Jedi Starfighter and Star Wars Bounty Hunter.
That’s a pretty bad ass package, really. There’s a “regular” console version coming as well, which has all the same digital goodies but a regular OG black PS4 in place of the Vader version.
Not interested in Battlefront? There’s a Walmart-exclusive Disney Infinity 3.0 bundle coming as well. It also features the Vader PS4 and 4 classic games, but in place of Battlefront the bundle includes the Infinity 3.0 physical game, base and Rise Against the Empire Play Set Pack (which features Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Boba Fett figures, as well the Rise Against the Empire Play Set piece). It will also add in the four classic games.
All bundles launch on November 17 when Battlefront hits shelves. Preorders will begin soon. Personally, I’m strongly considering this console, as the color and material changes are enough to make my Designer mouth salivate.
